Bryan ends the season with a 1-0 loss against St. Marys in sectionals. The Bears competed tremendously well against the #2 seed up until the final whistle, playing with heart all over the pitch. The midfield and defense, including some outstanding saves from GK Dom Malanga, managed to keep St. Mary’s at bay until midway through the second half. Bryan created a few scoring chances throughout the game through good interplay to create space on the wings, before whipping the ball into the box, or squaring onto the 18 for a forward runner to get onto. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough for the Bears who finish the season 8-7-2, the first winning season since 2016.
