The Bryan Boys Golf Team was at Auglaize GC today competing against 10 other area teams in the Annual Paulding Panther Invitational. 6 student athletes made the trip to the course and they showed early on that they came to compete against a strong lineup of local boys golf programs.
The team of Varsity players included 4 seniors, Jaydan Deel, Matt Devlin, Andrew Slagle, and Brendan Roberts. A third year player, junior Asher Sito and first year player William Whewell.
The low round of the day for the team was turned in by Jaydan Deel. The senior golfer shot a career best competition round of 76. That score earned him medalist honors for the first time in his high school golf journey. Congratulations Jaydan!! The district, the athletic department and our staff are very proud of you and the milestone you reached today!!
The team dropped 25 strokes from the previous day’s team total at the invite in Kalida. Leading the way with a 76 was Jaydan, followed by Asher shooting a round of 80, Matt carding an 86, Andrew shot an 89 and William a 96.
Brendan Roberts finished 3rd in a tightly contested group of JV golfers with a round of 92. This was Brendan’s first round of competitive golf in his HS career. Congrats Brendan!
The Boys are back in action on Monday August 11th for the Patrick Henry Invite.
