Stickney wins Coldwater Lions Club Invite, Bryan Boys Runner-Up


Bryan’s high school cross country teams competed in the Coldwater Lions Club Invitational held at Coldwater High School.

The boys opened the day with a runner-up finish behind only D3 state ranked #2 Versailles and just ahead of  D4 state ranked #1 Columbus Grove and #2 Crestview. Top 20 medalists for the boys were John Deitemeyer in 7th, Colton Sheline 9th, Josiah Cummins 14th, and Malaki Neilson 18th. Khris Alspaugh had a great race for the Golden Bears while placing 5th for the team in 25th place. Cael Neilson and Nye Bradbee rounded out the top 7 for Bryan in 36th and 46th respectively. There were 22 teams and 277 runners in the boys race.

The girls team placed 11th out of 21 teams. Nicolette Stickney won her third meet of the season while going wire to wire in a winning time of 19:14. Claire Thormeier placed 65th, Lila Brock 81st, Lily Pittman 109th, and A.J. Grant 112th to round out the top 5 girl scorers for the ladies. Adelyn Hake and Kassi McDade also competed for the Lady Bears, placing 167th and 173rd. There were 213 runners in the girls race.
