The Varsity Girls Basketball team split a pair of games this weekend in Lima at the Kewpee Holiday Classic. The Golden Bears lost on Friday night to Notre Dame Academy 47-36. Ella Rau led with 12 points and Marah Smith chipped in 10 points. The girls responded to their first lost with an excellent defensive performance on Saturday against Lima Bath. The Lady Bears held a 6-1 Lima Bath team to just 23 points on their way to a 42-23 victory.
The JV Lady Bears had a great weekend winning both game to claim the championship. The girls defeated Notre Dame Academy on Friday by score 33-29. The team put together their best performance of the year to beat a quality opponent. The JV team then claimed the championship with a 32-28 victory over Marion Local Saturday morning.
Both teams are back in action December 28th and 29th when they host the Holiday Classic.
