
The Bryan cross country teams competed in the Celina Rotary Invitational this morning. Nearly every member improved from their time trial from two weeks ago to today’s meet!
The boys were the team champions with a score of 26 points, beating Marion Local by 54 points. The top 5 finishers for the boys had a 1-5 pack time of 28 seconds. They were led by Colton Sheline in a PR of 16:49, finishing 2nd overall, Josiah Cummins placed 3rd in 16:59, John Deitemeyer placed 5th in 17:03, Malaki Neilson was 6th at 17:03 as well, and Elijah Cummins placed 10th in 17:17.
Other finishers for the boys were Cael Neilson in 13th (medal), Khristopher Alspaugh in 16th (ribbon), Spencer Woodward in 17th (ribbon), Nye Bradbee in 21st (ribbon), Leiv Keesbury in 30th (ribbon), Jeremiah Taylor 40th, Josh Sampson 47th, Fred Parmer 54th, Max Rios 62nd, Zac Schafer 65th, Ethan Bailey 66th, Graham McCague 67th, Pedro Lugo 75th, Kyle Flanagan 85th, Korbin Sammons 99th, Nate Root 104th, Jesse Hand 110th, Gawyn Miller 118th. There were 130 boys in the large school race.
The girls’ team placed 5th out of 10 full teams. They were led by Nicolette Stickney in 4th place in a time of 20:08. She was followed by Lila Brock in 28th place (23:06, ribbon), Claire Thormeier in 32nd place (23:19), Lily Pittman in 50th in 24:59, A.J. Grant in 53rd (25:21), Adelyn Hake was 56th (25:57), and Kassi McDade 89th (30:30).
It was a super successful first meet! Great job to our Golden Bear runners!
