On a blustery day at Eagles Landing Golf Club in Oregon, the Bryan Boys golf team battled to a 7th place overall finish and Senior golfer Jaydan Deel stood out individually to qualify for the District Tournament next week.
Among some of the first golfers to tee off this morning, the Golden Bears settled in and focused on shooting some low scores in, yet again, some challenging conditions. Leading the way for Bryan, Deel stayed very consistent and patient to card a 9 over 81. Junior Golfer Asher Sito fired an 89, Senior golfers Matt Devlin and Andrew Slagle each shot a 94 and Freshman Will Whewell rounded out the team effort with a 98.
Jaydan Deel’s round today earned him the right to compete on September 29th at Maumee Bay State Golf Course in Oregon. Widely considered one of the most challenging links style golf courses in the state, Maumee Bay will be a tough test for Jaydan and the other district qualifiers. Fortunately, Jaydan’s strong shot making ability, patience and course management, will serve him well next week. The Bryan City School District, Athletic Department and Golf Program are all extremely proud of Jaydan’s exceptional golf today as well as all season long. GO BEARS!!!
