The Bryan Boys Golf battled the elements and some tough league competitors at the NWOAL Boys Golf Championship today at Suburban Golf Club. The league tournament was held at Suburban Golf Course just north of Bryan, for the first time ever. Matt Struble and his team out there did a fantastic job hosting the event and preparing the course for the hometown Bryan Golden Bears and the other 7 teams from the league.
Leading the way for the Golden Bears today was 2nd Team All League senior Jaydan Deel. He shot a round of 78 in very challenging conditions. Jaydan’s calm focus and patience served him well today and earned him a tie for 4th with Griffen Valentine of Archbold and Brody Wyckhouse from Liberty Center. Congratulations Jaydan on your final competative round on your home course and your league honors!!!
2nd Team All League Junior golfer Asher Sito shot a 9 over par 81. Asher has been a consistent leader both on and off the course all season for the boys golf team. He has regularly turned in the lowest rounds of the team at all of our duel matches and tri matches. Congratulations Asher on your league honors!!
Two more Bears rounded out the team total of 341. Senior Matthew Devlin’s 90 and senior Andrew Slagle’s 92.
Freshman Will Whewell carded a 94 and Sophmore Nash Kendrick had a 96.
The district and the program are very proud of the perserverence and fight the Golden Bears brought to the course today, in some very difficult conditions.
The boys next compete at the Sectional Touranment on Thursday September 24th at Eagles Landing Golf Course in Oregon.
