The Paulding Panthers stood no chance to the lady bears, who came out ready to take control of the game from the minute they took the floor. The lady bears defense and excellent shooting could not be stopped as they went into halftime leading 22-6. The bears couldn’t be tamed scoring another 18 points the second half to win the game 40-13. Leading the way for the lady bears was Brynn Schlachter with 14 points. Harper Smith and Molly Ruffer both added 7 points each. Other scorers were Anni Grant 6pts, Olivia Sito 4pts and Lilly Elkins 2pts. The lady bears are back in action Thursday at home starting at 5pm against the Swanton Bulldogs.
In the 8th grade, the Lady Bears overcame a sluggish start to deliver a commanding performance, defeating their opponents 35-11 in a game defined by relentless defense in the 2nd and 4th quarters.
The Bears struggled to find their rhythm early, allowing the opponent to put points on the board. However, the Bryan defense began to assert its dominance, completely shutting out the opposing team in the second quarter to keep the game within reach heading into the locker room.
Adjustments were made at halftime, and they proved immediately effective. The Bryan offense exploded, putting up a significant 23 points The unit played with unmatched intensity, completely locking down the opponent.
The Bears’ ability to shake off a slow start proved to be the winning formula, resulting in a well-earned 35-11 victory.
