The Bryan Golden Bears delivered a gritty performance at the OHSAA Regional Meet in Piqua, highlighted by several career-best finishes. The boys’ relay teams stole the show by peaking at the right time; the 4x200m squad of Carter Altaffer, Carson Benschoter, Adam Elzey, and Spencer Woodward took 10th with a personal best of 1:32.07, while the 4x800m team of Elijah Cummins, Khris Alspaugh, Jermiah Taylor, and Josiah Cummins also set a PR of 8:33.13 to finish 12th.
In the distance events, Colton Sheline and Josiah Cummins braved a difficult double. Sheline placed 13th in the 1600m (4:40.82) and surged to a 9th-place finish in the 3200m (9:58.42), while Cummins took 15th in the 1600m (4:52.05) and 11th in the 3200m (10:11.86). On the girls’ side, Nicolette Stickney earned a hard-fought 8th-place podium finish in the 3200m, crossing the line in 11:19.93 to cap off a strong weekend for the program.
