The Girls Tennis team competed in the sectional tournament on Thursday and Saturday this week. On Thursday, all seven players advanced to matches that would determine district qualifiers. The Lady Bears advanced four players past this round, as singles players Caitlyn DeWitt and Myleigh Andrews, and the doubles team of Ava Lambert/Lucy Vashaw won their respective matches and will compete in the district tournament. Courtney Kendrick and the doubles team of Emma Elkins/Lilly Cox both fought hard, but eventually fell to their opponents to end their season. On Saturday, the team competed to determine their seeds for districts. Caitlyn Dewitt and the doubles team of Ava Lambert/Lucy Vashaw each earned 3 seeds, while Myleigh Andrews came away with the 4 seed. The District Tournament will take place next Thursday at Port Clinton @ 10am. Individual scores are listed below:
