The varsity boy wrestlers competed at the TSBW over the last 2 days. There was competition from, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Wrestling for the team were Alex Lane, Donnell Bush, Koehler Vivek, Dameon Wolfe, and Jaydon Dennis. The team finished 34th out of 57 teams. With only 5 guys, out of a possible 14, scoring for the team this is very good. Following are the individual results from the team.
113 – Alex Lane – 0-2, Alex is current stuck between 106 and 113. The completion at this tournament is very fierce and he wrestled well. He will continue to work on little things and I am sure he will come out on the winning side of things.
138- Donnell Bush – 5-3, Donnell finished in 8th place this weekend, losing to some very tough completion including the eventual champion and 3rd place finishers. He continues to find his groove and compete ate the same level every match, but that will come as the season progresses.
150 – Koehler Vitek – 1-2, Koehler started the tournament out on fire with a pin. But then ran into some tough completion. He is still struggling with being confident in his skills. When that happens we will see a change in things.
175 – Dameon Wolfe – 3-2, to say that Dameon did not place in this tournament speaks to the completion that he competed against. I believe that both of the individuals that beat Dameon are opponents that he will beat later in the season. Just a couple changes in his wrestling and he would have been standing on the podium.
215 – Jaydon Dennis – 6-3, finished in 6th place. Jaydon has been wrestling up a weight class the fist part of the season. Weighing in at 202 and wrestling 215 is very difficult. He has embraced the challenge and wrestled very well. Eventually his plan is to wrestle in the 190 pound class. If he continues to work hard in the room things are really going to come together for him.
