Bryan XC Performs Well at Tiffin Carnival


The Bryan cross country teams competed in the D2 races of the Tiffin Carnival. The boys team placed 7th out of 36 teams and the girls team placed 21st out of 31 teams.

The boys team was led by Braydon Buchanan once again, finishing in 33rd in 16:38. Josiah Cummins had a huge personal best while going under 17 minutes for the first time. He placed 37th in a time of 16:55. Elijah Cummins was the 3rd Bryan boy to cross the line in 63rd in a time of 17:29. Colton Sheline placed 66th in a personal best of 17:31, Malaki Neilson placed 75th in 17:40, Nye Bradbee placed 79th in 17:47, and Khris Alspaugh placed 95th in 18:05. There were 244 boys in the D2 varsity boys race.

The girls team was led by Kate Thormeier’s 13th place finish in 19:30. Nicolette Stickney placed 34th in 20:34, Claire Thormeier placed 112th in 22:52, Kate Moss placed 181st in 26:49, Kassi McDade placed 186th in 27:00, and Casey Xie placed 209th in 28:33. There were 226 girls in the race.

Seven boys competed in the D2 & D3 open race. Jeremiah Taylor placed 7th in 18:03, Spencer Woodward opened his season in 15th with a time of 18:33, Ethan Bailey placed 38th in 19:22, Josh Sampson placed 119th in 20:44, Graham McCague set a personal best of 20:59 in 136th, Brett Skiver placed 180th in 21:51, and Pedro Lugo-Ojeda finished in 295th in 28:36 in his debut race. There were 304 boys in the Open boys race.
