Bryan’s boys’ basketball team secured a decisive 47-39 nonleague victory against Stryker at Bryan High School, breaking a two-game losing streak. The Golden Bears (3-2) displayed efficient shooting, especially in the first half, where they shot 56 percent and established a halftime lead of 21-15. Despite Stryker’s attempts to narrow the gap in the second half, Bryan maintained control, with key contributions from post players like Carter Dominique and Sam Herold. Dominique led with 18 points, ten of which came in a crucial fourth quarter. The team showcased composure and execution against Stryker’s defense, with coach Brock Homier praising their performance. Stryker (2-3) faced challenges with turnovers and struggled to capitalize on open shots. Bryan’s win marked a rebound from a previous close loss to Hicksville, demonstrating the team’s growth early in the season. Looking ahead, Bryan will face Defiance, while Stryker aims to recover against Hicksville.
The JV team defeated Stryker 50-35 with Landon Bassett scoring 19 points, Tucker Watson scoring 11, and Jack Kennedy 7.
