Bryan High School is proud to announce the hiring of Hilary Staten as the next varsity head coach of its softball program. With an impressive track record as a former head coach and varsity assistant on staff at Bryan, Staten is set to lead the team to continue the tradition of excellence in Bryan softball.
Hilary Staten brings a wealth of experience to the role, having been a head coach at Edon where she had a 110-79 overall record, led her team to BBC titles in 2010, 2011, and 2018 and been an assistant at Bryan since the 2021 season where the Lady Bears have won three NWOAL titles (2021, 2023, 2024), District titles in all four years, and most recently in 2024 were Regional Champions, and State runner-up in Division II. Coach Staten has a passion for the game and a commitment to player development.
“We are thrilled to have Coach Staten as our varsity softball coach,” said Nathan Keel, Bryan High School’s Athletic Director. “She has been an assistant coach with us for the past four years which has been one of the most successful four year stretches not only in the area, but the state. Her vision for where we are as a team, where she wants this progam to go, and how we will go about it aligns with what we look for in a head coach.”
Coach Staten added “I’m beyond excited to lead this talented group of girls. We’ve got big things planned and unfinished business to take care of this postseason. I’m thankful for the opportunity and I can’t wait to get to work.”
As a former collegiate player at the University of Findlay, Staten has a deep understanding of the game, which she has successfully translated into her coaching career. Her focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and fostering a winning mindset has produced notable results throughout her career.
