The Bryan Boys Golf team were on the road again, playing at Pike Run Golf Club in Ottawa, at the Patrick Henry Golf Invite. The result of today’s effort was the highest team finish of the season in an invite. The Golden Bears finish 5th out of 19 teams. One round in the 70’s and 4 in the 80’s led to a team total of 331, good enough for a top five finish.
Leading the way, senior golfer Kai Dauber with a team low 3 over par 74. That score earned Kai his third medalist honors out of the 4 invites the team competed in this season. The highlight of the round for Kai was an eagle 3 on the final hole of the day!! Junior Jaydan Deel continued to shave strokes off his low score of the season with an 82, 3 shots lower than his best score to date. Sophomore Asher Sito had another solid round of 87, showing one of his best attributes on the golf course is consistency. Junior Matt Devlin had a blistering back nine of 38, combined with a 50 on the front, to card a personal season low 88. Matt hit some of the strongest, most accurate shots he has hit all season on the course today. Rounding out the effort for the Golden Bears was senior golfer Nolan Fransdorf with a 89. Nolan continues to improve with his short game around the greens and his putting.
Thank you to all 5 Bryan student athletes for going down to Ottawa and showing how to compete at a high level, representing our school and community!! GO BEARS!
