Boys Soccer Defeats O-G, 5-0

The Bears kept up their trend of fast starts Saturday morning at Rec Park, rolling past OG 5-0 to even their record at 2-2-1. Bryan wasted no time getting on the board as Alex Diaz drove down the left wing and fed Jack Kennedy, who buried a bar-down strike just 1:28 into the match. The pressure kept coming, and with 32:25 left in the first half, Bryce Welling slipped a pass to Carter Altaffer for the second goal. Just four minutes later, Altaffer set up Diaz to make it 3-0. Nine minutes after that, Altaffer delivered another dangerous cross from the right side that found Collin Rachel, who turned his defender and finished with his left foot to extend the lead to 4-0. The scoring capped off with eight minutes left in the half when Diaz returned the favor, connecting with Altaffer to make it 5-0.

The second half saw Bryan continue to generate chances while the defense stood tall against a quick and physical OG attack. Goalkeeper Jess Hendricks was sharp, recording six saves to preserve the clean sheet. With the outcome in hand, the Bears were able to rotate deep into the bench, giving multiple players their varsity season debuts.
