Boys Golf Shines at Paulding Panther Invite

Dauber Takes 1st Place Medalist Spot After 1 Shot Closest To The Pin Playoff!!!

The Bryan Boys golf team showed up to play today at the Paulding Panther Invite at Auglaize Golf Course.  Three of the six athletes that competed today, shot their lowest competition rounds this season.

Led by senior golfer Kai Dauber, who shot even par 72.  That score earned him a chance to have a one shot playoff with Grady Short, from Archbold, the other lowest round of the day at even par 72. Dauber watched as Grady hit first during the playoff shot and hit the ball within 20 ft.  Kai then stepped up and fired his shot to 14 ft., earning him the 1st place medalist honor for the tournament. A pressure filled, clutch performance by Dauber!  Congratulations Kai!

The balance of the Golden Bears all played well today and had some highlight worthy moments as well.  Scoring their low rounds of the season included Jaydan Deel with a round of 85 and Nolan Fransdorf firing a 89. Tee to green , both Nolan and Jaydan were very consistent and accurate today but felt they could have gone lower had a few more puts drop for them today.  Asher Sito’s putting was solid all day helping him card a 88. Matt Devlin again had some well played par 3 holes to help him post a round of 96. In his first competition round this season, John Dalrymple shot a 107.  The team total score of 334 earned them 8th place overall.

Thank you to Auglaize Golf Course for hosting the event and to Shawn Brewer, Paulding Boys Golf Head Coach, for all your work in organizing the invite.  Great Job!!

The Bears next head to Pike Run GC for the Patriot Golf Invite on Monday August 11th.
