The Bryan 8th Grade Football team moved to 7-0 on Thursday with a 44-0 win over Wauseon. The Bears took a 36-0 lead into halftime and added a score in the 2nd half to complete the win. Griffin Fowler led the Offense running for 90 yards, 2 TD’s, and a 2pt conversion. John Haury ran for 85 yards and a TD, Nate Root added another 30 yards rushing and Jake Arnold ran for 30 yards as well and added a rushing TD, in a balanced ground game. The Offensive line executed all night long with both the first and second teamers plowing the road for their teammates. Arnold was 7-8 passing with a TD (Ethan Longoria 54 yards) and 2 2pt conversions to Landen Decker. Tyler Tipton was 3-3 passing with a TD (Longoria 35 yards) and collected a 35 catch of his own. William Weber had a 33 yard catch and Gary Bonner added a catch for a 2pt conversion. Robbie Quillen collected a 1st down catch for the Bears on a scoring drive in the 2nd half.
Defensively the Bears continued to play stifling D as they have all year long. Wauseon was limited to less than 5 1st downs throughout the game. Luke Spitnale had a interception and Connor Monroe and Cooper Vollmer combined for a sack. Harrison Six had a pass break up from his End position. Tackles for loss were registered by Evan Longoria (2), Weber (2), Arnold (2), Six, Hunter Hancock, Ethan Longoria, Decker, Saybien Brown, Mario DeHoyos, and Spitnale.
The Bears play Archbold at home on Tuesday October 22 at 5pm in their finale of the 2024 season.
