
Bryan Varsity Golden Bears defeated Napoleon Varsity Wildcats 7-1 on Wednesday thanks in part to four runs in the sixth inning. Carter Luce singled, scoring one run, Cam Bukowski singled, scoring two runs, and Jacob Uran singled, scoring one run.
Napoleon Varsity Wildcats opened the scoring in the fifth after a passed ball scored one run.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Bryan Varsity Golden Bears went back into the lead after Luce singled to center field, Bukowski hit into a fielder’s choice, and Bryce Welling singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Cade Carlin earned the win for Bryan Varsity Golden Bears. The righty gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Bryan Varsity Golden Bears accumulated 14 hits in the game. Bukowski and Luce were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Bryan Varsity Golden Bears. Tucker Miller went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Bryan Varsity Golden Bears in hits. Carlin and Hunter Watson each collected multiple hits for Bryan Varsity Golden Bears. Bryan Varsity Golden Bears were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Bukowski had the most chances in the field with eight.
Bryan will play Wauseon in the District semifinals on Wednesday, May 26th at Archbold High School at 6:30 pm.
