The 8th grade football team beat Swanton Thursday at home 54-8 after scoring 32 1st quarter and 46 1st half points. The Bears offense exploded for big plays all night in the running and passing games. Griffin Fowler had big runs all night long and scored 3 TD’s and 2 2pt conversions while piling up big yards. John Haury had a TD run and a few big runs as well. Jake Arnold connected on all 5 of his passes, 2 went for TD’s and 2 for 2pt conversions. Tyler Tipton hauled in a 65 yard TD reception and William Weber had a 25 yd TD catch as well. Luke Spitnale had 2 2pt conversion catches, Landen Decker had a 2pt catch and Weber ran in a 2pt conversion. The Bears scoring was capped off with a 50 yard punt return TD in the first half sprung by a great wall of Bears and a pancake block by Harrison Six.
The Bears Offensive line dominated again as Six and Cooper Vollmer pounded multiple Bulldogs to the turf and the other 8 lineman that played did a great job with assignments all game long.
The Bears Defense was very good again tonight and produced a few big plays of their own. Tipton had an INT w/a big return and Nate Root had a fumble recovery. Arnold, Six, Dakota Herman, Hunter Hancock, and Easton Sammons all had TFL’s tonight and Haury had multiple tackles from his corner position. The Bears are now 6-0 and play a good Wauseon team on the road next Thursday at 5pm.
