On Thursday September 17th, the Bryan 8th grade football team went on the road and lost 27-0 to Liberty Center. The Tigers got off to a fast start with two quick touchdowns off Bryan turnovers in the 1st quarter, while Bryan had a long touchdown pass called back on a penalty in the 2nd quarter that kept them off the scoreboard. Liberty Center added a late score before half to make it 21-0 at the break. With only 13 healthy players, the Golden Bears competed for four quarters and never quit in a physical hard fought game. Leading the way for the Bryan offense was QB Kayson Buchanan who led the team in rushing and passing. Wes Connin led the Golden Bears in receptions and receiving yards. The Bryan defense was led by Kayson Buchanan, Wes Connin, Dillon Skiver, Maven Staten, Izzy Gonzalez, and Loghan Decker with multiple tackles. Connin and Decker both recovered fumbles. The Bryan 8th grade football team is now 1-2 overall and will host Evergreen next Thursday at Golden Bear Stadium.
