Bryan 8th Grade Football Beats Patrick Henry 32-14

On Thursday September 10th, the Bryan 8th grade football team went on the road and defeated Patrick Henry 32-14. The Bryan offense got off to a fast start with big runs from Kayson Buchanan and Wes Connin who both led the Golden Bear ground attack. Kayson Buchanan was a dual threat quarterback on the night with 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing touchdown to Maven Staten. Buchanan added 2 2-point conversion runs and threw 2 other 2-point conversion passes to Staten and Connin. Wes Connin also added a long rushing touchdown while Owen Grant and Maven Staten also added some rushing yards to round out the explosive ground game. The Bryan offensive line and wide receivers did a good job blocking and helping create holes to lead the dominate ground attack. Defensively, the Bryan Golden Bears were led by Maven Staten, Wes Connin, Kayson Buchanan, Izzy Gonzalez, Loghan Decker, and Owen Grant with multiple tackles. Dillon Skiver and Noah VonDeylen both had interceptions to get the ball back for Bryan. The Bryan 8th grade football team is now 1-1 on the season and they will travel to Liberty Center next Thursday.
