The Bryan Lady Bears put up a strong fight against the Genoa Comets on Tuesday evening, ultimately falling 4-3 in a competitive non-conference matchup.
After a scoreless first half, both teams came out firing in the second, combining for seven goals.
Averyann Fisher got the scoring started for Bryan after connecting on a perfectly placed through ball from Amiyah Langham. Piper Hanna added Bryan’s second goal with a powerful right-footed wraparound shot that found the upper-right corner of the net. The play developed off a throw-in from Chloe Wallace, who earned the assist. Bryan’s third goal came from Amiyah Langham, who delivered a powerful left-footed strike off a direct kick, sending the ball just over the goalkeeper’s head and into the net.
Defensively, the Lady Bears battled throughout the match, with goalkeeper Sidney Luce recording numerous, valuable saves to keep Bryan in the game. Despite the final score, the Lady Bears showed determination and fought hard from start to finish.
