
The Evergreen Vikings came to Bryan Tuesday, night for the first league match up between schools and lost in three hard-fought sets (20-25, 24-26, 22-25). Jozie Cordy led the serving line with 3 aces, while Clare Stever and Kelsie Thiel each added 1. On the attack, Ava Neubig led the team with 6 kills, followed by Nora Kunsman with 5 and Gezzy Kidston with 4. Thiel was a force at the net with 3 solo blocks and 5 block assists, teaming up with Alea Shilling on the front line. Defensively, both Kidston and Stever collected 10 digs each, with Reese Ruffer adding 6. Cordy also dished out 16 assists to guide the Bryan offense.
The JV’s lost 25-14, 14-25, 19-25.
The Bears will finish out the week on Thursday, August 28th, at Edgerton with JV starting at 5:30 and varsity to follow.
