Stickney, Thormeier, and Woodward Lead Bryan Track at Districts

The Bryan track teams competed in district finals on Friday night at Defiance High School. This years event featured 19 boys teams and 17 girls teams. The top 6 finishers from each boys event advanced to regionals while the top 4 finishers for girl events advanced. The boys team placed 13th and the girls team placed 8th.

Top 8 finishers:

Girls 100m – Chloe Spisak (7th place)

Girls 1600m – Kate Thormeier (2nd place – regional qualifier), Nicolette Stickney (3rd place – regional qualifier)

Girls 800m – Nicolette Stickney (3rd place – regional qualifier)

Girls 3200m – Kate Thormeier (3rd place – regional qualifier)

Boys 400m – Spencer Woodward (3rd place – regional qualifier)

Boys 4x400m relay – Jack Kennedy, Carter Altaffer, Alex Diaz, and Spencer Woodward (6th place – regional qualifier)

Boys High Jump – Nate Ridgway (3rd place – regional qualifier)

On Wednesday night, the girls 4×800 team of Nicolette Stickney, Kelsie Thiel, Breanna Richmond, and Kate Thormeier qualified to regionals after placing 3rd. This was the only final to advance from day 1 of districts. The boys 4×800 just missed advancing, placing 7th.

Regional 4×800 finals and prelims will compete on Thursday, May 29 at Lexington High School. Regional finals will be on Saturday, May 31 at Lexington as well.
