The Girls Tennis team competed in the Sectional Tournament on Thursday and Saturday this week. In singles action, Myleigh Andrews, Lucy Vashaw, and Ava Lambert all won their first matches, but fell in their second round matches to eventual district qualifiers. The doubles teams of Caitlyn DeWitt/Molly Hess and Katelan Nagel/Hannah Andrews both advanced to the District Tournament next week in Port Clinton. DeWitt and Hess won three matches on Thursday in straight sets to clinch their spot in the District Tournament. Nagel and Andrews won their first match on Thursday before play was suspended due to rain. Saturday Morning, they survived a three-set thriller to punch their ticket to Port Clinton. In the seeding rounds of the tournament, Dewitt/Hess split their matches to obtain the 2nd seed and Nagel/Andrews came out with the 4th seed. The Lady Bears will compete in the District Tournament on Wednesday, October 11th @ Port Clinton High School, with play starting at 10am.
