The junior high track teams had a great night of competition hosting Wauseon & Liberty Center at home on Thursday evening. Both teams came in 2nd overall.
Event winners for the boys: Alex Diaz 200, Zac Schafer 400, Jeremiah Taylor 800 & 1600, 4×400 relay of Fred Parmer, Adam Elzey, Carter Montalvo & Zac Schafer, and 4×800 relay of John Deitemeyer, Colton Sheline, Cael Neilson & Fred Parmer.
Event winners for the girls: Trinidee Baughman 200, Annie Kunsman pole vault, Ela Elkins long jump, and 4×200 relay of Trinidee Baughman, Breanna Richmond, Chloe Wallace & Breanna Winzeler
Alex Diaz broke the junior high school record in the 200 with a time of 24.14 seconds. The previous record of 24.17 was set in 2023 by Spencer Woodward.
The 4×200 relay team of Griffin Fowler, Adam Elzey, Parker Muelfeld & Alex Diaz also set a new junior high school record with a time of 1:44.63. The previous mark of 1:45.9 was set in 2016 by T Baughman, L Clemens, C Arthur, & A Dean.
Jeremiah Taylor tied the junior high school record in the 1600 with a time of 4:54.7. This matches the record held by Elijah Cummins from 2023.
