JH Boys Sweep Evergreen

Bryan’s 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams picked up a pair of convincing wins over Evergreen on Tuesday night, using relentless defense and strong rebounding to control both games.

In the 7th grade contest, Bryan earned a 42–33 victory after building a nine-point halftime lead. The Bears’ defensive pressure forced key turnovers throughout the night, while their work on the glass limited Evergreen’s second-chance opportunities. Maven Staten led all scorers with an impressive 23 points, setting the tone offensively. Kayson Buchanan added 7 points, while Loghan Decker and Noah VonDeylen each chipped in 4. Brandon Buehrer and Micah Hughs rounded out the scoring with 2 points apiece.

The 8th grade Bears followed with a dominant 48–24 win, jumping out to a 17-point advantage by halftime and never looking back. Bryan again leaned on tough, physical defense, forcing turnovers and controlling the boards on both ends of the floor. Hoyt McGill paced the scoring with 15 points, while Xavier Oliphant finished with 7 and Hayden Warner added 6. Harrison Spitnale scored 5 points, Max Neff contributed 4, and Casen Herman added 3 as Bryan showcased balanced scoring in the decisive victory.
