The Bryan varsity boys basketball team was down 17 points at the half against Elida, but fought back to get within 6 points by turning up the defensive intensity. Ultimately, Elida edged Bryan, 48 to 36. Gavin Jaessing scored 15 points, Kingston Sito had 14 points, and Carter Dominique contributed 7 in the loss. Bryan drops to 5-7 on the season.
In JV action, Bryan had a 6 point advantage at 27-21 with 1:55 remaining in the game in a highly competitive game, but Elida battled back to win the game at the buzzer with a final score of 31 to 29.
The Elida freshman defeated Bryan, 31-29. The game went back and forth, Elida was able to get a hand on the would-be game-tying shot as time expired.
Bryan will be back in action on Tuesday for a freshman, JV and varsity triple-header against Archbold with the freshman starting at 4:45pm.
