Bryan Lady Bears Defeat Wauseon; Boys Fall in Key League Match

The Bryan Lady Bears earned a big NWOAL victory over Wauseon on Friday, while the Bryan boys came up short in a hard-fought league matchup. Both Bryan teams entered the day undefeated, and the contest marked the end of the first half of league play, making it a significant match on both sides.
The Lady Bears bowled extremely well as a team, finishing with a 2390 team total to defeat Wauseon’s 2198. Bryan was led by Zoey Gillett, who rolled an outstanding 477 series (266–211). Meadow Goebel followed with a 405 series (193–212), while Polly Sleesman added a 324 (147–177). Mya Federspiel contributed a 314 (167–147), and Allison Leininger finished with a 317 (173–144). Both girls teams bowled very well throughout the match, but Bryan’s consistency and strong baker games proved to be the difference.
On the boys’ side, Bryan battled throughout but fell to Wauseon 2489–2324. The Bears were led by Noah Geren, who posted a 403 series (202–201). Micah Smith followed closely with a 392 (200–192), while Skyler Crooks rolled a 366 (189–177). Noah Mills added a 361 (180–181). Emerson Slattman contributed a 146, and Otto Proxmire finished with a 124. Despite competitive baker games and a strong team effort, Wauseon was able to edge Bryan in total pins.
Overall, it was a very big match for both programs, closing out the first half of league play and setting the stage for the second half of the season.
