Archbishop Moeller defeated Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears 11-1 on Saturday thanks in part to six runs in the first inning.
Archbishop Moeller jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Madrigal drew a walk, scoring one run, Tabler singled, scoring one run, Sommers singled, scoring two runs, a steal of home scored one run, and a steal of home scored one run.
Archbishop Moeller added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Madrigal singled to center field, and Archbishop Moeller scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.
Archbishop Moeller added one run in the third. Madrigal singled down the left field line, making the score 9-0.
Maybury earned the win for Archbishop Moeller. The hurler allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out nine and walking none. Quinn Green took the loss for Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears. The starting pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering nine runs (eight earned) on seven hits, striking out three and walking five.
