Bryan JV Falls To Maumee

Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears had trouble keeping up with Maumee in an 11-1 loss on Tuesday.

Maumee got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jones drew a walk, scoring one run, Boyer singled, scoring two runs, and Jones scored after tagging up.

Maumee scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Zilke drew a walk, scoring one run, Dodson singled, scoring two runs, and Kiger doubled, scoring two runs.

Marcy earned the win for Maumee. The pitcher surrendered four hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking none. Rhett McGill took the loss for Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears. The starter went two and two-thirds innings, giving up nine runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking six.

Andrew Slagle, Easton Kerr, John Dalrymple, and Bryce Welling each collected one hit for Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears. Dalrymple went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Dalrymple had the most chances in the field with four.

Maumee tallied 10 hits in the game. Hostetler, Bertsch, and Dodson each collected two hits for Maumee. Dodson, Jones, and Kiger each drove in two runs for Maumee. Kiger led Maumee with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Maumee ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.
