Bryan hosted the Golden Bear Invitational this evening. The boys team placed 1st out of 8 full team and the girls placed 3rd out of 6 full teams.
The boys were led by Xander Fackler with a course record of 16:04.0. This bested his previous course record by 9 seconds. He was followed by freshman Elijah Cummins in 6th place, junior Braydon Buchanan in 8th, freshman Malaki Neilson in 11th, and sophomore Nye Bradbee in 17th. 100 boys competed in the boys race.
The girls were led by junior Kate Thormeier’s 1st place finish in a meet record of 19:13.2. The previous record was held by Kaylie Dameron of Celina last year with a time of 19:15.5. Sophomore Nicolette Stickney placed 4th, freshman Eden Alyanakian placed 28th, junior Kelby Knight placed 39th, and junior Casey Xie placed 46th.
The Golden Bears cross country teams will compete next on Saturday at the Tiffin Carnival.
