The Golden Bears put up a gritty performance on their home mats at the 2025 Golden Bear Invitational, finishing 15th overall with 47 team points. Bryan earned one individual championship and one runner-up finish in a field that featured 24 teams from across the region.
Leading the charge was Payton Geiner, who dominated the 125-pound bracket on her way to a tournament title. Geiner battled through a competitive weight class, capping off her day by securing Bryan’s lone first-place finish of the event.
Many Golden Bears logged valuable match experience in the early-season competition. The home tournament marked an encouraging step forward for Bryan’s growing girls program as they continue to gain mat time and confidence heading into the rest of the schedule.
