Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears Claw Back, But Fall Just Short Against Liberty Center.

Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears’s effort to come back from down six runs in the seventh inning came up just short, as they fell 7-6 to Liberty Center on Thursday. Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears closed the gap by scoring on a hit by pitch, a double, a walk, and a ground out.

Liberty Center got on the board in the top of the third inning after Navarre walked, and , each scoring one run.

Liberty Center scored five runs on six hits in the top of the seventh inning. #30 doubled, scoring two runs, Tallent singled, scoring two runs, and Light grounded out, scoring one run.

Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears scored five runs on one hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. Andrew Slagle was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Asher Sito doubled, scoring two runs, Easton Kerr drew a walk, scoring one run, and Bryce Welling grounded out, scoring one run.

Howe earned the win for Liberty Center. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking two. Cole Carlin took the loss for Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, giving up three runs on nine hits, striking out eight and walking three. #9 earned the save.

Sito and Welling each drove in two runs for Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears. John Dalrymple paced Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Sito stole two bases. Bryan Junior Varsity Golden Bears were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Dalrymple made the most plays with eight.

Liberty Center piled up 13 hits in the game. Sonnenberg and Oith were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Liberty Center while hitting back-to-back. Tallent and #30 each drove in two runs for Liberty Center. Liberty Center were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kiaeger made the most plays with seven.
