
On Thursday September 4th, the Bryan 8th grade football team opened up their season with a challenging road game at Tinora. The Golden Bears trailed 12-8 at half and ended up losing 34-22 in a physical game. Leading the way offensively for the Bryan offense was Xavier Oliphant who scored two long touchdowns (one receiving and one rushing). Mack Inselmann connected with Hoyt McGill on a long touchdown pass in the 2nd half. London Villalovos added 3 2-point conversion runs to round out the scoring. The Bryan defense got many contributions with tackles for loss and hard hits by Hoyt McGill, Ryan Carpenter, Nolan Wyman, Travon Koonce, Tony Alcantar, and London Villalovos. Alyjah Buehrer had multiple pass breakups to lead the Golden Bear secondary. The Bryan 8th grade team is 0-1 on the season and will return to action next Thursday September 11 HOME vs. the Patrick Henry Patriots (4:30 p.m. start) with the Bryan 7th grade football team playing in the night cap vs. the Patriots.
