Bryan (0-1-1) lost a hard fought contest against a strong St. Mary’s side. Bryan opened the scoring early with a goal 30 seconds into the first half. Bryce Welling finished the chance off of some good interplay and a final through ball from Alex Diaz. St. Mary’s scored with 10 minutes left in the half. The bears continued to create chances and Jess Hendricks made a last second 1 on 1 save to keep the game tied.
The Bears started the second half off the same as they did the first. Scoring 1 minute and 10 seconds into the second half with some great forward play from Alex Diaz holding off a defender and slotting a through ball to Carter Altaffer who finished clinically. St. Mary’s answered almost immediately and scored the winner halfway through the second. St. Mary’s continued to create chances and the Bears back line held well defending each attack.
