Boys basketball gets back in the win column at Fairview

Saturday night saw the boys basketball team get back into the win column after an emotional and physical game on Friday night with a victory over Fairview 59-43. A low scoring game in the first half had Bryan leading 16-13, and a 3rd quarter that saw baskets being traded had Bryan heading into the 4th quarter with a 31-27 lead. Bryan was able to pull away in the 4th quarter as Kingston Sito scored 23 of his career high 35 points. Along with the scoring burst, Bryan leaned heavily on their defensive efforts as a team with contributions coming from every player that stepped on the court, coming away with 8 steals and 35 total rebounds. Defensive highlights were Masen Welling and Hunter Muehlfeld who played phenomenal defense on Fairview’s leading scorer, limiting shots and making it difficult to get into any type of rhythm. Along with the defensive effort, Hunter had 3 key offensive rebounds and 2 resulting in put back layups to keep the Golden Bears ahead. The victory moves the boys to 6-11 on the season, and they will return to action in the NWOAL on Friday, January 31st hosting Evergreen.

Gavin Jaessing posted his second consecutive double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Landon Bassett had 9 points, Hunter Muehlfeld with 4 points, Carter Dominique with 1 point.

The JV lost Saturday night 42-34 at Fairview. Bryce Welling led the offense with 12 points, Alex Diaz added 8 points, Easton Kerr with 5 points, Rhett McGill with 4 points, Cooper Beltran with 3 points, and Hunter Watson with 2 points.
