Boys basketball drops league game at Liberty Center

A heartbreaking loss on the road saw the Golden Bears drop a league game at Liberty Center in overtime by a score of 68-65. A game that saw Bryan battling from a deficit throughout the majority of the game with multiple lead changes late in regulation. The Bears went into the 4th quarter trailing 48-43, closing the gap to tie the game at 60 with a full court possession chance to win the game. Free throws were the difference in overtime as Liberty Center was able to get to the line 6 times to the Bears 2 free throw attempts to close the game. The loss moves the Bears to 5-11 on the season, with their next game on Saturday, January 25th at Fairview high school.

Landon Bassett led the offensive scoring with a season high 29 points, including 7 three pointers, tying the school record for made 3 pointers in a game.

Kingston Sito finished with 18 points and Gavin Jaessing ended with a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The JV came away with an exciting win at Liberty Center by a score of 50-47. Down 19-18 at half-time, they made up the difference in the 3rd quarter to take a 1 point lead heading into the 4th. Offense was led by Rhett McGill with 19 points, Alex Diaz with 11 points, Bryce Welling and Sam Gonzalez both chipping in 6 points.
