Girls: First Place!
The day started a little slow, but we quickly regained our momentum in Game 2. After three regular games, we were in a strong position, leading heading into the baker series. The oil pattern was last year’s state pattern, which made things a bit challenging. The breakdown was tough, and we had to work hard to keep up with the adjustments.
Despite the challenges, we kicked off the baker series with an impressive 257. After the regular games and five baker games, we held on to first place heading into the stepladder finals. We faced Liberty Center in the finals, who took Game 1. However, the team bounced back in Game 2 and 3, claiming the championship.
I’m incredibly proud of how the team responded after that rough start to the finals. The girls stayed focused and did their jobs in the final two games, bringing home the well-deserved championship!
Boys: First Place
The Boys had a solid start, sitting in 2nd place after the first game. They really stepped up in the second game, shooting a 1050, which helped them move into 1st place going into the baker games. They held on to that lead after the baker games, despite facing a tough oil pattern. The team battled through the challenges and never gave up. The stepladder finals came down to a matchup between Bryam and Bowling Green, and the Boys clinched the victory in two games, finishing strong with a 236 baker game. Coach Miller’s advice to focus on their own game and not worry about Bowling Green paid off, as the Boys executed perfectly in the finals. We’re extremely proud of their performance
