LIBERTY CENTER — The Bryan Junior High boys’ track and field team earned a share of the 2025 NWOAL Championship on Saturday, tying Wauseon with 122 points in a competitive meet at Carpenter Track and Field. Throughout the day, athletes battled a steady west wind on the homestretch, making performances especially impressive across both track and field events.
The boys’ 4×200-meter relay consisting of Griffin Fowler, Landen Decker, John Haury, and Carson Benschoter claimed first place in a time of 1:41.95, breaking both the school and NWOAL league records for the event. Bryan also saw several individual champions, including Annie Kunsman, who tied the league record in the girls’ pole vault, taking first by clearing 8 feet, 6 inches. Nate Root made a clean sweep in the event as he took first with a vault of 9 feet. Jozie Cordy won the 100-meter hurdles in 18.02 seconds, and Landen Decker earned gold in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 29.09 seconds. The boys’ 4×800 relay team of Fred Parmer, John Deitemeyer, Kyle Flanagan, and Max Rios also earned first place with a time of 10:23.60, rounding out a strong day for Bryan’s distance group.
