BMS Track & Field at Swanton Tri-Meet Highlights

Jozie Cordy leads the girls 100m hurdles, followed by Karli McDade and Ellie Walborn.

On Thursday April 17th Bryan MS Boys and Girls teams traveled to Swanton to compete against Swanton and Archbold in a Tri-Meet. Landen Decker led the boy’s team with first place finishes in the 100m dash, and the 200m hurdles. Carson Benschoter and John Haury went first and second in the open 200m. Fred Parmer, first in the open 400m. Sawyer Hutchinson first in the 800m open, John Deitemeyer first in the 1600m (mile) with a time of 4:55.7. The boys’ 4x800m relay team took first, beating Archbold by over six seconds. For the field events, Bryan boys took second through fourth in high jump with John Haury, Carson Benschoter, and Taylor Pelz. Nate root scored first in pole vault with a PR of 8”6in. In boys discus, Easton Sammons took first with a throw of 108”-8, and in boys shot put Connor Monroe took 3rd with a throw of 34”-4.5.

On the girls side, Anna Slagle took first in the open 400m. The girls took first through third and fifth place in the 100m hurdles with Jozie Cordy leading the pack, Karli McDade following closely behind, Annie Kunsman took third and Ellie Walborn in fifth. Girls high jump took first and third with Jozie Cordy and Karli McDade. In pole vault, Annie Kunsman took first with a vault of 7”0.
