On senior night at Bryan, the Bears showed grit and resilience despite a 48–37 loss to Wauseon on Friday night.
Bryan found itself in an early hole, trailing 17–4 after the first quarter and down 10 at halftime, but the Bears responded with improved energy and execution over the final two quarters. They battled back, cutting into the deficit and making Wauseon work for the win down the stretch.
Bryce Welling led Bryan in scoring with 11 points, setting the tone offensively. Cooper Vollmer added 8 points, while Jake Arnold chipped in 7. Hunter Watson finished with 6 points, Tucker Miller scored 3, and Tucker Watson rounded out the scoring with 2.
The night also served as a celebration of Bryan’s seniors—Tucker Miller, Tucker Watson, Jack Kennedy, and Cooper Beltran—who were recognized for their time, commitment, and contributions to the program.
Bryan returns to action Saturday at Paulding with a 6 p.m. JV start, before closing out the regular season next Friday on the road at Archbold.
