The Bryan 8th grade girls’ basketball team secured a commanding 47-11 victory over Hicksville. From the opening tip-off, it was clear the Bears came to play, combining a stifling defense with a high octane offense.The story of the first half was Bryan’s defense. The Bears came out with intense pressure, holding Hicksville to zero points in the first quarter. That momentum carried into the second, where they limited the opposition to just 5 points heading into the locker room. Bryan however, exploded for 16 points in the second frame, fueled by aggressive post moves and dominant rebounding. The highlight of the night was the team chemistry. The Bears showcased elite court vision, turning great passes into even better finishes. This win was a total team effort, proving that when the Bears play together, they are a force to be reckoned with. Mallie Grant led the scoring with 16 points, followed by Ryann Eickhoff who scored 11. Others that added to the team win included: Ady Fruchey and Maliyah Champada with 6 points a piece. Charlotte Johnston and Riley Bever each with 4 points and Allie Tietsort chipped in 2.
Bears are on the road tomorrow as they had to Evergreen.
