8th Girls Dominate Archers

The Bryan 8th grade girls basketball team put on a clinic tonight, delivering a high energy performance to defeat the Antwerp Archers 53-19. From the opening tip to the final buzzer, the Lady Bears showcased a complete game rooted in hustle and teamwork.

Bryan set the tone early in the first half, jumping out to a commanding lead. By focusing on aggressive defense and controlled possessions, they headed into the locker room up 24-8.

The momentum only shifted further in Bryan’s favor during the second half. The girls continued to push the pace, racking up another 29 points while suffocating the Archers’ offense, holding them to just 11 points in the final two quarters.

The scoreboard only told part of the story. The win was fueled by the Lady Bears being relentless in running the floor and beating Antwerp in transition for easy buckets. They also had great box outs that limited Antwerp’s second chance opportunities and allowed Bryan to control the glass.

It was a total team effort with the following putting up points:

Mallie Grant- 16 points

Charlotte Johnston-14 points

Ady Fruchey-11 points

Maliyah Champada and Ryann Eickhoff added 4 points. Emma Yoder and Molly Ruffer chipped in 2 a piece.
