The Golden Bears played a very good 1st half en route to a 32-0 halftime lead, running clock in the 2nd half, and a 32-8 final. The Offense was sharp with 3 big play scores and a strong and consistent ground game in the first two quarters. Landen Decker scored on passes of 46 and 42 yards and ran in a 2pt conversion. Tyler Tipton had a TD reception as well from 22 yards out and Griffin Fowler put the final TD in for the Bears on a short run near halftime. Jake Arnold threw for 3 TD’s, ran for 2 2pt conversions, and threw another to Erik Dalrymple. The Offensive line (Connor Monroe, Saybien Brown, Harrison Six, Cooper Vollmer, Cade Kern) was very good again and Luke Spitnale had a great night in a new position for the Offense.
Defensively the Bears forced an interception when Fowler stepped in front of a PH pass and collected 11 TFL’s (Jake Arnold – 4, Cade Kern – 2, 1 each for Hunter Hancock, Six, Fowler, Evan Longoria, and Izayah Britt), and had a sack (Longoria, Brown, Mario DeHoyos). Leiv Keesbury had a pass break up from his safety position and John Haury had a hustling, TD saving tackle late in the 1st half. The Bears play again at home this Thursday vs. Swanton at 5pm.
