7th Grade Girls Advance to Second Round Beating the Swanton Bulldogs

The 7th grade Lady Bears took one look at the Swanton Bulldogs and left them in the dust Monday night in tournament play. The Bears team effort offensively and defensively were no match as the Bears took a 6-0 lead right out of the jump. Emmalynn Yoder’s full court pressure led to multiple turnovers for the Bulldogs turning into multiple made layups the first half as the Bears led 13-6 going into the half. Out of halftime Lilly Elkins drained a 3 pointer from downtown extending the Bears lead, but they weren’t going to stop there. Harper Smith added two more 3 pointers from behind the arc giving the Lady Bears a combined 16 points in the 3rd quarter. The Lady Bears won by a final score of 50-29 advancing them to the second round of tournament play.

Harper Smith led the Bears with a season high 18pts. Other scorers include:

Brynn Schlachter 10pts

Emma Yoder 9 pts

Molly Ruffer 6 pts

Anni Grant 4pts

Lilly Elkins 3pts

The Lady Bears will be back in action playing Liberty Center at Wauseon Middle School on Thursday at 615pm
