The Lady Bears tennis team, without two of their starters due to injuries, traveled to Lima Central Catholic to play the Lady Thunderbirds on a very hot and humid afternoon Tuesday and came away with a razor thin 3-2 win.
Eden Owens and Emma Schlade continued their dominance at 1st and 2nd singles as they didn’t drop a game in their matches to give Bryan an early 2-0 lead.
But then things got interesting as LCC’s first doubles pair of Alana Hefner and Gracy Malcom pulled out a 6-3, 6-2 win, and the Lady Thunderbirds’ A’yshia Jackson closed out her third singles match with a win as well.
With the score tied 2-2, the outcome of the match came down to the result of the second doubles contest. And for the second time this season, Bryan’s second doubles came up big for the Lady Bears. This time it was Ashley Mays and Moselle Huard who put the match in the win column for Bryan as they pulled out a competitive 6-1, 6-2 win.
Bryan is now 12-0 on the season and will face Ayersville on Thursday at 4:30 pm at the Bryan High School tennis courts.
