Bryan grabbed an early lead and held on for a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Northview.
The Bears wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning when Averyann Fisher delivered a clutch double that drove in two runs. She was 2-3 on the night. That early spark proved to be the difference in a tightly contested game. Josey Arnold stayed hot at the plate, collecting three hits in three at-bats. Analicia McCoy-Martinez added a stolen base for Bryan.
Bryan totaled eight bases on the night, highlighted by Fisher’s double. Total bases leaders included Fisher with three, Arnold with three, Amiyah Langham with one, and Thea Staten with one.
Staten earned the complete-game victory in the circle for Bryan. The right-hander allowed six hits and two runs (only one earned) across seven innings while striking out eight and walking two.
The Golden Bears will return to action Tuesday in District Tournament play at Northview.
