Bryan Boys XC Runner-Up at Columbus Grove Invite!

The cross country teams competed in muddy conditions at the 48th annual Columbus Grove Invitational on Saturday morning.

The varsity boys kicked off the day with a 2nd place finish out of 25 teams in the large school division race.  It was a complete effort for the boys team and each member did their job in order to finish as team runner-up.  There were 175 boys in this race and individual finishing positions are listed below.  West Liberty-Salem won the team title with 103 points while Bryan finished in 2nd with 108 points, and Tinora placed third with 109 points.

Colton Sheline set a personal best of 16:15 while placing 5th, John Deitemeyer finished in 11th, Josiah Cummins battled for a gutsy 23rd place finish, Elijah Cummins placed 29th, and Jeremiah Taylor rounded out the scoring 5 for the Golden Bears while running a personal best of 17:58 and placing 43rd.  Josh Sampson (66th) and Leiv Keesbury (109th) also competed in the varsity boys race.

The high school girls did not have a full team competing this morning.  Lila Brock led the four ladies that competed while earning a personal best time of 21:45 and placing 44th out of 238 competitors.  AJ Grant was the 2nd finisher in 103rd, Riley Bever finished in 135th, and Kassi McDade rounded out the group placing 193rd.

The JV boys competed a few hours later in warmer and muddier conditions.  They were led by Fred Parmer in 14th place, Ethan Bailey in 17th, Max Rios in 37th, Korbin Sammons in 87th, Nate Root in 97th, Keaton Myers in 108th, Wesley Lupo in 132nd, Jesse Hand in 152nd, and Gawyn Miller finished in 167th to round out the finishers for the JV boys.  There were 189 finishers in the JV boys race.  The JV boys team placed 6th out of 18 complete teams.

Our teams look forward to hosting the Golden Bear Invitational on Tuesday, September 8 at Moore Park.  The night will kick off with the elementary fun run for 3rd – 6th graders at 5:00 followed by the JH girls race at 5:30, JH boys race at 6:00, HS girls race at 6:30, and HS boys race at 7:15.
